Lyde, Barker named king and queen

Henrietta Care Center is a facility that prides itself on old-fashioned values and a small town atmosphere. Our residents enjoy the group activities and celebrations that happen at HCC on a regular basis.

We offer 24-hour care by licensed nurses, free wireless Internet, wonderful social services that support our residents and our residents’ family members, pharmacy services that insure all of the correct medications are received in a timely manner, and phenomenal religious services that help the residents stay strong in their faith.

We also have both hospice services and a beauty and barber shop in our facility that are very convenient for our residents. HCC is approved for Medicare and Medicaid, and we also take third-party insurance and private admissions accepted 7 days a week. The service that most people seem to be unaware of is our respite care service. In addition to long-term care, we also have respite care. It is not uncommon for someone to come to Henrietta Care Center for a short period of time before returning home. During their short stays at HCC, our temporary residents always establish relationships with other residents as well as with the staff.

We recently had our Valentine’s Day party. We crowned a king and queen that were voted on by the staff, residents, residents’ family members, and visitors at Henrietta Care Center. The first runners-up were Betty Shaver and General Houston, second runners up were Frances Coker and Ed Edwards, third runners up were Wilma Pollard and Leland Pollard. The newly crowned queen is Emma Lyde, and the king is J.W. Barker. Leland Pollard and Gene Pollard were our reigning king and queen who passed down their crowns. Congratulations to Emma Lyde and J.W. Barker on being voted as the 2012 Valentine’s Day King and Queen at Henrietta Care Center! Thanks to all that voted; we appreciate your participation.

This week we will celebrate National Sweet Potato Day by eating sweet potato fries on Thursday. We will then celebrate National Chocolate Mint day on Friday.

We would like to thank the Byers women’s club for hosting the Annual Valentine’s Day party. We appreciate each and every one of you that comes out each year to celebrate Valentine’s Day with us. You being here makes everything so much more special us.

Thanks to Cheryl McClendon’s class from Midway for the Valentine’s cards. They are so nice. We really enjoy the children sharing with us. Bless you all.

We are so blessed to have the volunteers, staff, and community support that we have at Henrietta Care Center. Thank you to each of you for all you do.
