Lucyle Higdon of Charlie


Lucyle Higdon, 91, of Charlie, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in Henrietta.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at the Charlie Cemetery, with Rev. Bob Webb of Burkburnett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Higdon was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Petrolia to J.W. “Fred” and Ella G. (Lewis) Barger. She was a Homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlie and very active in her community. Her father owned and operated one of the first orchards in Charlie.

She is preceded in Death by husband John; son Ray McPherson; and great grandson Collin Ross Sanderson.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Matthews and husband Mike of Dean, Delores Tucker and husband Jerry of Charlie, and Fredna Hamilton of Wichita Falls; one son, Johnny L. Higdon, Jr., of Wichita Falls; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-6:30 Sunday Feb. 12, at Davis Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Charlie Fire Department or the Charlie Community Center.
