Each year Henrietta Junior High sponsors the Bluebonnet Book Reading Contest for sixth grade students. Students reading five or more books are eligible to vote for their favorite book. This vote is calculated at the state level for the overall Bluebonnet winner.
Winning first place and receiving a plaque: Logan Plaster-Durham read 15 books to win first place and a plaque. Second place and receiving a silver medal: Clayton McClain read 10 books for a second place medal and Addie Duncan won a third place medal with nine books read.
