Brown chosen for 20 Under 40 community leadership honor

Brandon Brown, a 1993 graduate of Henrietta High School, has been selected a member of the 20 Under 40

community leadership contingency for 2012.

The Wichita Falls-area program honors Texoma’s top 20 business and community leaders under the age of 40. The nomination criteria included career development, community involvement, accomplishments and leadership potential.

Brown, 36, is president of the Wichita Falls YMCA, a position he has held since 2009. He began his career at the YMCA 15 years ago, while a student at Midwestern State University, focusing on child and youth development. He has served the organization through grant writing, organizing and membership advocacy.

Brown also is active in Leadership Wichita Falls, the United Way, Humane Society, Wichita Falls Food Bank and the Kiwanis Club.

Brown and other winners of the award will be featured in the February edition of Biz-to-Biz, published by the Times Record News. They were recognized with a reception at the Wellington Banquet House in Wichita Falls Jan. 24.

The 20 Under 40 class of 2012 was selected from 53 nominations.
