Midway names Hewett as homecoming queen


Senior Ethan Cafagna hands a bouquet of roses to Callie Hewett, the 2012 Midway Homecoming Queen.

Students at Midway High School elected senior Callie Hewett as the 2012 homecoming queen Friday night.

Escorting Hewett was classmate Ethan Cafagna. Candidates for homecoming queen were Erika Richardson, Katey Clark, Aimee Spearman and Sarah Gambrelle.

The evening began with a barbecue meal for ex-students, followed by varsity basketball games against Gold-Burg. The Lady Falcons earned a 43-29 win over the Lady Bears, while the Falcons beat Gold-Burg 66-34.

Following the boys game, the MHS classes of 2002, 1982 and 1962 were honored.
