Janice Irene Green Luig, 63, of Shannon, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, in Wichita Falls.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst. Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at St. Mary’s, with Rev. Jeff Poirot, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Mrs. Luig was born May 14, 1948, in Wichita Falls to C.J. “Bob” and Edna Marie Preston Green. She graduated from Windthorst High School in 1966. She married Eddie Luig, Jr. on June 8, 1968, in Windthorst. They moved to Bedford, in 1971, and she was employed in the transportation department of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford I.S.D. for more than 18 years. While living in Bedford, they were founding members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. In 2004, they returned to the Windthorst area and have since resided in Shannon. She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Reagan Luig; a sister, Patsy Green; and two brothers, Pat and Tim Green.

Survivors include husband, Eddie; three sons, Brian and wife Carla, Eric and wife Micki, all of Fort Worth, and Chad and wife Lauren of Crandall; one daughter, Melissa McCoy and husband Levi of Fort Worth; five brothers, Jack Green of Overland Park, Kan., Jim Green of Broomfield Colo., Bill Green of Corpus Christi, Jerry Green of San Antonio, and Tom Green of Cedar Creek Lake; four sisters, Geraldine Lindemann of Windthorst, Margaret Tift of Bremerton, Wash., Sister Marie Green of San Antonio, and Rita Schreiber of Scotland; and nine grandchildren.
