The Bearcats came out with three wins agains Alvord Monday night on the home court. Victories came from the eighth grade “B”, seventh grade “A” and the eighth grade “A” teams. A number of season high scoring was recorded by the Bearcats. The eighth grade “A” is now 10-3 on the season while the Bearcat seventh grade stands 8-2 with one regular scheduled game remaining (at Krum).
Skylar Castro scored a season and career high 12 points, but it was not enough as Alvord won 26-20. The Bearcats made a late second-half come back and played very hard. Cody Franklin also had a season high scoring with four points as Zack Sowers and Brayden McDonald each had two points.

Kandon Bennett turned in a career high 18 points (15 in the second half) including a trio of three-pointers to spark a big second-half surge that led the Bearcats to a 37-16 victory. After being shut out in the first quarter, the Bearcats were able to tie the score at nine by halftime. It was a 19-2 scoring surge in the third quarter (11 by Bennett), that jump started the Cats to victory. Ethan Scholl had six points for the Bearcats with Kevin Morales also cointributing a three-pointer. Mason Hanson and Chris Offield each put in four points with Dillon Flowers scoring two. Hanson, Bennett, Scholl and Offield had several steals on the press and assists.

After trailing by four at intermission, the Bearcats outsccored Alvord 17-9 in the second to post a 26-22 win. It was a total team effort by the Bearcats. Chance Terry was the leading scorer for the Bearcats with seven points including a three-pointer just before the buzzer. Braiden Seward added a pair of three’s for his career high of six points and Colton Terry also scored six. Colton Hill had several steals and rebounds on top of his five points and Cutter Holloway added a pair.

Three Bearcats scored in double digits as they topped Alvord 44-32, avenging an earlier loss at the first of the season. Nick Offield topped the scoring with 15 points followed by Logan Carter with 12 and Cody Fletcher with 10. Jaylon Curtis and Mason Barry had the only other points for the Bearcats. Curtis scored five and Barry contributed one. As a team, the Bearcats hit 10 of 16 free throws. The Cats led 11-7 at the end of the first quarter, but gradually pulled away in the final three quarters.
