Henrietta Care Center had our monthly potluck lunch Friday. We enjoyed several different varieties of soup in celebration of National Soup Month. We had potato soup, chicken noodle soup, beef soup, broccoli and cheese soup and vegetable soup. We are so fortunate to have such a great group of people working here to spice up our month by cooking and participating in the potluck meals. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.

Janice was not able to come out to play the guitar and sing Monday or Thursday due to her husband being ill. We truly miss her when she cannot make it, and we hope her husband is doing better and feeling well. Janice, we hope to see you next week.

Sarah and Jane also missed a day last week, but they were back Friday for devotion. The residents were so glad to see them Friday. We really enjoy our volunteers.

We also want to thank Aaron Moser for choosing us for his volunteer project. He is going to the army soon, and we are honored that he came out and volunteered for a day. Frances Coker is grateful for the walk he took her on. We hope he enjoyed his time with us, and we are glad he got to be a part of our monthly potluck as a soup judge. Thank you again for everything, and we will pray for your safety.

We had four boys between the ages of 8 and 13 come out Thursday night. They will be volunteering at HCC one hour each week. These boys were awesome on their first day here. They began by visiting with Sam Bachman and reading The Clay County Leader with him, and then they played several rounds of chicken foot with Willie Carmichael. Next, they walked around the block with Frances Coker, and they were going to start another walk when their ride showed up. Wow, how time flies when you are having fun! Thanks boys, and we look forward to your next visit.

We have three resident birthdays this month. On the 5th Ruthie Jones celebrated her special day and will be followed by Sam Bachman on the 16th and Leatrice Bouldin on the 26th. Our monthly resident party for these three will be at 3 p.m. on the 27th. If you have some free time, stop by and help us celebrate.

Thank you to our community members for all your help and support. Have a good week.
