Pioneer Reunion parade theme announced


The Theme Committee is offering “Classics From the Bookshelf” this year as subject matter for the 81st annual Clay County Pioneer Reunion float parade. The 2012 event is scheduled for Sept. 13, 14 and 15 in downtown Henrietta.

Possible entries can include:

Treasure Island, Paradise Lost, Gone with the Wind, Alice in Wonderland, The Robe, Pride and Prejudice, Wizard of OZ, War & Peace, Jane Eyre, Dr. Zhivago, Les Miserables, North to Alaska, Peter Pan, The Phantom of the Opera, Magnificent Rube, Black Beauty, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Romance and Dim Trails, Secret Garden, Little Women, Call of the Wild, Gulliver’s Travels, The Scarlett Letter, Robin Hood, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Red Badge of Courage, Arabian Nights, Heidi, Romeo and Juliet, Charlotte’s Web, Lawrence of Arabia, Mobie Dick, Little House on the Prairie, Sleepy Hollow, Aladdin, Lord of the Rings, Anne of Green Gables, Wuthering Heights, Water for Elephants, Helen of Troy, Sherlock Holmes, Greatest Show on Earth, King Arthur, Don Quiote, Old Yeller, Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby, The Bible, Alamo, Lord of the Flies, All Quiet on the Western Front, Anne of Green Gables, or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
