Despite a 24-point fourth quarter, Henrietta’s Bearcats fell five points short of a comeback win over Krum Friday night, 57-52.
Krum took an early but narrow lead in the first quarter, 11-8, and the two teams battled through the remainder of the half.
With a 20-16 lead at halftime, Krum came alive in the third, outscoring Henrietta 22-12. The Bearcats held Krum to 15 in the fourth, but could not pull ahead.
Cole Burns led the Bearcats with 19 points. Dalton Davidson with 12 points, including two three-pointers, and four assists. With limited playing time, Nick Powell scored seven points. Philip Davis also landed a three pointer, totaling five points. Tommy Peevey scored four points and Ben Fletcher added three.
Burns also led the team on defense with 10 rebounds and three steals. Nick Powell contributed five rebounds, while Davidson finished with three rebounds and three steals.
Tuesday, the Bearcats have an open date Tuesday, and will travel to Holliday Friday, Jan. 13.
