HJH Lady Cats compete in tourney


Henrietta junior high’s seventh and eighth grade girls traveled to City View Jan. 6-7 for tournament play.

The seventh grade girls first faced Electra, for a 17-14 loss. Kagen Campbell, Samantha Morrow and Jordan Harwell scord four points each. The team also fell to Holliday. Harwell scored six points, while Hollie Thomas and Michelle Bennett scored two points each.

The eighth grade Lady Cats earned a 34-13 win over Electra. Coach Megan McCasland said the team played extremely well, and with great teamwork. Kamryn Weaver led the effort with 11 points, followed by Callie Page with 10 and Kenzie Kirk with five points.

The Lady Cats played a close, hard-fought game against Holliday, but couldn’t pull it out in the end, 16-14. Page scored 10, while Taylor and Weaver scored two points each.

The junior high girls traveled to City View Monday for district play.
