Carl ‘Jake’ Klein of Henrietta

Carl “Jake” Klein, 85, of Henrietta, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta, with Father Richard Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hope Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta. A Christian wake will be held at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

Mr. Klein was born Nov. 22, 1926 in Henrietta to Carl T. and Clyde Marie (Perkins) Klein. He married JoAnn Marie Schenk on May 3, 1962 in Wichita Falls. He was a cowboy, a farmer and a rancher, as well as a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Klein was employed by the Harry Scaling Ranch for 37 years and by the Smith Ranch for 62 years.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Bullinger and Geneive Pittman; and 2 infant brothers.

Survivors include his wife JoAnn Klein of Henrietta; son Randy Klein and wife Angela of Henrietta; step-daughter Linda Bevering and husband Jack of Charlie; two step-sons Steve Hardman and wife Marilyn of Wichita Falls, and Howard Hardman and wife Janice of Wichita Falls; brother Clarence Klein of Henrietta; five sisters Margaret Watson of Gainsville, Pauline Caswell of Sunset, Edna Mae Klein of Henrietta, Frances Essler of Scotland, and Carla Whitaker of Bowie; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
