Henrietta’s Lady Cats had a big second half Tuesday night to pull off a 39-24 win over Electra.
Henrietta held a narrow three-point lead to close the third quarter, but pulled away with a 17-point fourth quarter.
Electra outscored Henrietta 9-7 in the first quarter, and held the Lady Cats to five in the second for a 19-12 lead at halftime. The Lady Cats came alive in the third, keeping Electra scoreless while posting 10 points, 22-19.
Anni Scholl and Annelise Sauer opened the fourth with a pair of baskets, followed by a bucket from Katie Jo Blanscet to put Henrietta up by nine. Sauer and Scholl would each score again before Electra could put any points on the scoreboard.
One the Lady Tigers did score, Henrietta answered with big pass from Taylor Burch to Sauer in the paint, 34-21. Sauer hit two free throws, followed by Blanscet with one more from the charity line. Sauer put Henrietta’s final two on the board with a jump shot in the paint.
Sauer led Henrietta’s offensive effort with 16 points and three assists, followed by Blanscet with 11 points. Scholl scored eight while Cheyenne Barry scored two and donated three assists. Cassie Pickett also scored two points.
Blanscet led the team in rebounds with seven, followed by Pickett with six. Barry and Scholl finished with five boards each.
