Arabella Davis of Arlington


Arabella Davis, 76, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 in Arlington.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 9, at the First Baptist Church in Arlington, with Dennis Wiles and Rev. Charles Wade officiating. Burial will at 3 p.m. in the Bluegrove Cemetery with Rev. Joe Ainsworth, pastor of the Bluegrove Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 26, 1935, in Plainview to O.T. and Laura Grace (Merchusin) Toney. She married John L. Davis on June 22, 1968 in Arlington. Mrs. Davis was a school teacher who had retired after 29 years of service in education.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Arlington.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Merchusin, in 1945.

Survivors include her husband John L. Davis of Arlington; two sons, Stephen Davis and wife Ronda of Henrietta, and Michael Davis and wife Melissa of Arlington; and five grandchildren.

The family will be at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington Thursday evening, Dec. 8, from 4-6 p.m.
