Lady Eagles fall to Valley View

Bellevue’s Lady Eagles led Valley View through three quarters Friday night, but failed to fend off a second half comeback from the Cooke County team, 39-38.

Offensive play of slow for both teams in the first half, but Bellevue pushed ahead with an 11-7 lead in the first quarter, and grew its lead in the second.

Bailey Terry rebounded her own free throw in the second and put up two points from inside the paint to give the Lady Eagles their biggest lead of the night, 17-8. Bellevue closed the first half up 19-11.

Valley View scored 14 in the third quarter to put itself within four points of a tie game going into the fourth, 29-25. The squad posted another 14 points in the fourth. Valley View tied to game at 29-all with seven minutes remaining, then pulled ahead by one. Bellevue matched Valley View point-for-point, but did not again take the lead.

Terry lead the team with 17 points, followed by Amber Bush with seven and Alisha Lawrence with six points. Bailey Schroeder and Kimberley Morrow scored four points each.

The Lady Eagles travel to Chico Nov. 22. JV begins at 4 p.m.
