Joyce Arnold of Bedford


Joyce (Cozart) Arnold, 99, of Bedford, formally of Henrietta, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 in Bedford.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12,at the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo Springs with Rev. Bill Waller, pastor, officiating and Pastor Joseph Chang and Pastor John Ostoich of the Church of Light and Salt in Hurst assisting. Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Buffalo Springs under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Mrs. Arnold was born on Nov. 6, 1912 in Buffalo Springs, to George W. and Beulah (Tekell) Cozart. She married Hunter John Arnold on Nov. 22, 1940 in Arnett, Okla. She was a retired school teacher who spent most of her career at Midway ISD, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Henrietta.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by husband Hunter John Arnold on June 5, 1979 and one sister, Fairy Hankins of Bowie, Texas.

Survivors include one son, Joe B. Arnold of Bedford; a special friend, Jewell Wakefield of Bedford; and three nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Springs Cemetery Association, c/o Jane Browning, 4465 Liberty Road, Bellevue, Texas 76228.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening, Nov. 11, from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
