A small line of thunderstorms that rolled through Clay County Sunday night caused big problems for motorists and a power outage in Henrietta.
Showers began in Henrietta after 7 p.m. and, before midnight, dropped two inches of rain.
The storm kept DPS Troopers and a county deputy busy with vehicles that had slid off the road on Hwy. 82 and Hwy. 287.
At about 10:45 p.m., a truck driver reported that his tractor-trailer had slid off of Hwy. 82 between Bryant Edwards Road and Doss Loop, and that the trailer was blocking the eastbound lane.
The driver said he was westbound when he swerved to miss a deer. The truck spun around and came to a rest facing east in the eastbound median. He was not injured in the accident.
According to scanner traffic, several vehicles wound up in the medians on Hwy. 287, near the Hwy. 148 intersection. At least one other accident was reported during the rain storm.
Oncor residents were without power from about 10 p.m. until 11:43 p.m.
More thunderstorms are expected this week.
