The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for portions of western North Texas, including Clay County, until Friday morning.
Temperatures are forecasted to near 30 degrees Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and could dip below the freezing point again Thursday night. The cold front was carried in Wednesday on northeasterly winds of 25-35 miles-per-hour, with gust of up to 40 miles-per-hour.
The NWS advised freezing temperatures can kill outdoor plants and damage outdoor faucets and sprinkler systems not yet winterized.
