Goldie Renfro of Vernon


Goldie June Duewall Renfro, 85 of Vernon, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011,  in Crowell.

Funeral services will be Saturday Oct. 29, at 10 a.m. at Wilbarger Street Church of Christ in Vernon, where she was a member. Officiating will be Vance Crow, Pastor of the Church of Christ in Chandler, Okla. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park, Vernon, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.

Mrs. Renfro was born June 18, 1926 in Ringgold, the youngest of 13 children born to John Duewall and Christian Willingham Duewall. She married Raymond Hershel Renfro Sept. 24, 1944 in Henrietta. She moved to Vernon in 1952 from Dallas. She was a homemaker and an avid seamstress and quilter.

Mrs. Renfro is preceded in death by son John Robert Renfro on Nov. 9, 2004.

Mrs. Renfro is survived by husband Raymond Hershel Renfro of the home; a daughter, Nancy Renfro of Vernon; two sons, Raymond Lee Renfro of Vernon and Michael Wade Renfro of Lake Kemp; a sister, Mary Gwin of Henrietta; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 28, from 6-7 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
