Glenn Dale Schaffner, 55, of Henrietta, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta, with Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Schaffner was born Sept. 7, 1956 in Henrietta to Leonard and Lavenia (Neugebauer) Schaffner. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Ag Economics. He married Laurie Carson on Aug. 16, 1980 in Richardson. Mr. Schaffner was a Clay County farmer and rancher . He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta where he has served as deacon for 20 years and chairman of the deacons. Mr. Schaffner also served as Sunday school superintendent and as a board member of the Clay County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife Laurie Schaffner of Henrietta; one son, Bryan Dale Schaffner and wife Anna of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Sharon Dacus and husband Capt. Grady Dacus of Temple; father and mother, Leonard and Lavenia Schaffner of Henrietta; one brother, Alan Schaffner and wife Leslie of Wichita Falls; one sister, Joy Schaffner of Henrietta; and mother-in-law Marjorie Laing of Henrietta.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Henrietta at P.O. Box 544, Henrietta, Texas 76365.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening, Oct. 23, from 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
