Billy Coody of Henrietta

Billy Van Coody, 80, of Henrietta, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 in Henrietta.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta with Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Shannon Cemetery in Shannon, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Mr. Coody was born on March 11, 1931 to Ira Lee and Mildred (Fry) Coody. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the army, he joined the Army Reserve. Mr. Coody retired from working as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the VFW Bucky Boyd Post and the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta.

Survivors include his brother, Warren Coody of Henrietta; two sisters, Ann Falkner of Corpus Christi, and Ruth Coody of Decatur, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 p.m.-8 p.m..
