Tommy Ellis of Gladewater


Tommy Ray Ellis, 57, of Gladewater, Texas, formerly of Henrietta, died Oct. 12, 2011, in Gladewater.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Winona First Baptist Church in Winona. A private burial will be held at the Tagsdale-Moss Cemetery in Rockdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater.

Mr. Ellis was born  May 15, 1954, in Thibodaux, La. He was raised and attended school in Henrietta. He was a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad and owner of Tommy Ellis Trucking in Gladewater.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Alexander Ellis of Gladewater; a son, Corey Michael and Katie Ellis of Gladewater; two daughters, Tiffany and Mike Lewis of Flint and Amber and Tanner Blount of Plains; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Ellis of Henrietta and David Ellis of Texas; and one sister, Brenda Shepherd of Argyle.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Winona First Baptist Church.
