The Beta Club at Byers ISD held its first meeting for the 2011-2012 school year recently.
Elected as officers for the new year are Heather Coleman, president; Cidnie Hulse, vice president; Sydney Daniels, secretary; and Holly Fleming, treasurer. New members to be formally inducted later are Heather Goolsby, Adam Wamble, Travis Sloan and Jonathan Wheeler.
Plans were discussed for upcoming projects including coordinating activities for Red Ribbon Week in conjunction with Texas War on Drugs, Oct. 24-28, and Halloween Dress-Up Day Oct. 31.
