Ruby A. Deason of Wichita Falls


Ruby A. Deason, 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at her residence.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta, with Jessie Rowe, Elder of the Broadway Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, officiating and Rev. Ken Johanan of the Byers Baptist Church assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Mrs. Deason was born May 11, 1924 in Turpin, Okla., to Hubert and Nora (Snyder) Plunk. She married William Gordon Deason in October of 1944 in Guymon, Okla. She had numerous jobs throughout her life, all dealing with bookkeeping. She spent her later years as a farmer and rancher. She was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Deason loved craft work, gardening, family gatherings and was a birthday cake specialist.

Mrs. Deason was preceded in death by her husband William Deason; two brothers, Dwayne and Curtis Deason; one daughter-in-law, Linda Deason.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Deason of Wichita Falls, and Keith Deason and wife Linda of Wichita Falls; one daughter, JoAnn Wolf and husband Pat of Windthorst; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thaine and Dode Plunk of Mission, and Kenneth and Mary Plunk of Rodgers, Ark.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 7, from 7-8:30 p.m.
