Dummy roping winners announced


Now in its sixth year, the Pioneer Reunion Dummy Roping Contest was held Saturday on the northwest corner of Tex Rickard Memorial Arena.

Autry Berend took first place in the 5-and-under category, followed by Ramsey Hensley in second.

In the 6-8-year-olds, Kameron Moss placed first, followed by Reece Hensley in second and Hadley Berend in third place.

Among the 9-11-year-olds, Ben Johnson placed first, followed by Kat Hand in second.

In the senior (60 and older) division, Troy Kyle took first place, followed by Corky Wade in second.

In the open division, Brady Kyle placed first while roping a calf head, followed by Jamie Houck in second. Lee Moss took first in roping a steer head, followed by Blake Bounds in second.

Buckes for the event were provided by Barbara Mayo, The First National Bank of Byers, Joe Bob Smith and Sandy Crawford.

Managing the funny roping competition each year are Lee and Lori Moss, and Dennis Shoemaker, with help from the Kyle and Moss families.
