Mike Baker of Abilene


Mike Baker, 55, of Abilene, formerly of Clay County, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, in Abilene.

Mr. Baker was born March 25, 1956 in Henrietta to Marion and Reva (Patterson) Baker. He worked in construction as a welder and was a welder instructor for Cisco Junior College. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene and was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Petrolia cemetery, in Petrolia.

Survivors include one son, Michael Lee Baker and wife Jessica of Lewisville; one daughter, Chelsea Smith and husband Kelly of Athens, Ga.; brother Mark Baker and wife Lacy of Dean; sister Karen Morrow and husband Rusty of Ruidoso, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Reva Baker.
